Yosuke Abe
Japan
Geologist & Ultra-runner
Yosuke is a geologist developing renewable energies in Japan. He truly embodies the spirit of running long distances on trails and love for our eco-systems.
Hello! My name is Yosuke Abe and I am working as a Feels’s ambassador.Feels. is a brand created by my friend Carole with the idea of "with nature", and I am happy to help to develop it in the future.I'm a trail runner, mainly run ultra-long distances over 100 kilometers. I don't have a brilliant history of race. But I am looking forward to facing myself and experiencing the nature that changes as I progress, during race. So, I am training everyday for that.I was born and grew up in the Japanese countryside where is surrounded by mountains. So, nature was always close to me. My parents often took me mountains and I can't forget the scenery. So, I majored in geology at university for studying mountain terrain. Now, I am working as a renewable energy engineer to handle geothermal & wind and am struggling every day with the goal of coexisting with nature. From this background, I just sympathize with Feels's goal.It is important, not only to enjoy nature, but also to protect it while maintaining a balance with our daily lives. I will continue to do my best so that I can fully respond to the feelings of Feels.
Mark Gillet
UK/Thailand
Teacher & trail-runner
Mark is Feel's greatest supporter sharing our passion for the practice of a sustainable sport. He has launched a youtube channel talking about all things running. His Insta account is full of funny and insightful nuggets, Big Adventures on Average Talent.
I am not a top athlete, but aim to have big adventures despite average talent - and my goal is always to do this with leaving only a small footprint, which is why I am so excited to be involved with Feel Running. I am equally at home on the track, road or trail, and I particularly enjoy taking on big challenges that scare me - one recent highlight was becoming the first person to complete an Everesting by foot in Thailand.
In 2022 I established the FKT for Phuket west coast, and made sure to do the 70km route single-use plastic free for all my nutrition. However, crossing a beach near the end of the FKT and seeing the amount of plastic waste washed up by the ocean really highlighted how we need to do more.
Running, cycling, climbing and hiking have taken me to some amazing places around the world, and through them I have made great friends. I support the Feel Running community to have great adventures, make great friends and to have a great impact on the sustainability of how we go about this. Big adventures on average talent, with a small footprint.
